Haier refrigerator model HFD647SS purchased in 2009.

What is the fault?

Recent testing of this model on behalf of Australian government regulators found that the energy label affixed to the refrigerator understated the actual energy consumption during normal operation. Subsequent examination by the Haier engineering team found that this model was fitted with the incorrect componentry that caused it to consume more energy than declared.

What will happen?

In order to rectify this, Haier would like to replace the product with a new modified fully equivalent refrigerator which uses considerably less energy in normal operation. Haier warrants that this new refrigerator is fully compliant with all Australian and New Zealand standards. This new refrigerator would be at no cost to you and will come complete with a full new product warranty.

Haier would also like to provide you with financial compensation to cover the costs of the extra energy already consumed by the product since purchase.

What should you do next?

Please contact Haier on 1300 850 561 or email HFD647@haierlife.com.au at your earliest convenience to arrange for the delivery of the new product and to receive the compensation. All we need to confirm is proof of ownership of the HFD647SS refrigerator. Please provide purchase details when you contact us and we will also require to sight this information when we deliver your new refrigerator.
